masterhaytham replied to your post: He was terribly late due to his work and he only hoped she wouldn't be too upset over it. On the way he'd stopped by his own home, trudging through the miserable, soaking, wet conditions, picking up a bottle of wine and a book he thought she might enjoy. With the hope that this might lighten her mood, he knocked on the door and waited.
He shrugged out of his drenched outer layers and removed his hat before following her in, as he attempted to fix his wet, stubborn hair. Sitting down, he smiled and offered her the wine and the book. “I thought you may be upset about my tardiness.”
"I swear, the weather is terrible today!" The Assassin didn't like the sudden change; she would happily spend her time in her own living room in rainy days such as that. So she murmured those words as she aided her lover into removing his cape and coat.
A shy smile appeared on her face as he offered her the gifts. "There was no need, dear," she admitted, bowing her head. "But I love them." Truth be told, she hadn't even expected him to come, considering the weather and his schedule; so his presence alone was enough of a reason for a smile to appear on the woman's face.
"Come now... to the fireplace! I don't want you to get cold..."
