How to find the rights holder of the song

Simple method of how to search information and contact the rights holder of an old song:

Go to Discoqs and search for your song. Song will be attached to the album.

In album search for «Label». This is what we are looking for. Also old vynils have print with label’s name if you doubt.

Try to search label’s site or wikipedia page to see if he still exists. Usually label still live or belong to the super-big label (Universal Music for example). But you may not find e-mail adress to contact (my case).

Go to LinkedIn and search label there. There is a 99% chance that people responsible for managing will be there. Try add them as a friend with message that describes what you need. They will not add you but will redirect to the person who responsible for that question.

Как найти обладателя авторских прав на песню

Простой способ найти какую-либо информацию по обладателям авторских прав (мастер и других лицензий) старой музыки и связаться с ними:

Заходим на Discoqs и ищем нужную композицию. Композиция будет закреплена за альбомом.

В альбоме ищем строчку «Label». Он то нам и нужен. Так же у многих записей логотип лэйбла расположен на самом диске, если вы вдруг засомневались.

Пробуем найти сайт лэйбла и информацию в википедии жив ли он. Обычно лейбл жив или входит в состав какого-нибудь супер-лэйбла (Universal Music, например). Однако, e-mail’а для связи может и не найтись (мой вариант).

Заходим в LinkedIn и ищем этот лейбл. Обычно все люди, имеющие отношение к руководсту там есть. Стучимся в друзья и описываем ситуацию!
