Can you please do a scenario where Shuichi’s the mastermind? Except he’s not the Ultimate Detective, but actually the Ultimate Mystery Novelist playing as his self insert to live his twisted fantasies as a hero. Kaede is supposed to be love interest that dies later in the game, but she ends up faking her death and exposing him.

That’s one you don’t see everyday

Kaede noticed how Shuichi acted strangely during investigations and trials. It was like he became more animated, his words more scripted like dialogue in one of his mystery novels. The longer it went on, the more suspicious it made her.

She had Maki and Kokichi help her find him out by faking her own death. That way, during the trial, she would be able to find out for sure whether or not he was the mastermind like she suspected.

And she was surprised by what she found- and what she saw. She saw live footage in the mastermind’s lair of the trial, where Shuichi was trying to play the hero and avenge her- only, they made sure all of the evidence pointed to her. That way, if she wasn’t able to stop it before then, nobody else would falsely die.

She stayed as hidden as she could until she found the right time to expose him for being the mastermind. She found the script he’d written out beforehand, the mystery in which he was the hero and she was the love interest who was supposed to die later on. She wrecked that delusion by faking her death before.

It was, frankly, horrifying. All this time, someone she considered a friend was the mastermind and would stop at nothing to get his perfect murder mystery with his hero fantasy. No more.

I personally think that Shuichi as a Mastermind would also would of been a cool turning point in the actual game! A love interest that you would never think would be the starter of it all? I mean yeah the ending of V3 is kinda cool and all, but if they made Shuichi the MM instead and have Kaede find out, that would be heartrenching-- I'm rambling but I really love your AU! I can't wait to see more!!

I don’t actually dislike the mastermind they choose and I think it was a good choice. But I love the “innocent hero is the mastermind” au so I also like the Idea of Shuichi as the mastermind. And since in my au I wanted Kaede to be the protagonist and the mastermind not the same as in NDRV3 I decided that Shuichi would be a good choice.
