30/100⠀ ⠀ I haven’t smoked in almost 20 years, but still grab matchbooks at bars or restaurants or weddings or hotels. Or pretty much wherever. They live in a big glass cookie jar, lots of them. When I need matches, I pull a pack out at random and am reminded of a long-forgotten evening at a comedy club, distant serial adventures at a long gone local or a dinner with friends whose names I barely recall. Also, in 1987, Naugatuck High School gave matches out at their prom and who are Mark and Amie?⠀ ⠀ **this particular image kicked my ass, I'm sure I have over 12 hours it. Why the f*ck did I think this as a good idea? I was pretty excited to create a vector version of bargello stitch, one of my favorite needlepoint designs. But then I hand drew, scanned in, vectorized, fixed and colored each matchbook. That was stupid. I had so many other awesome matchbooks, but it would have taken me all week. Look for them in the book version...⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #shittyfonts #handdrawntype #handdrawnlogos #the100dayproject #the100dayproject2018 #the100dayprojectOP #objectpermanence #significantobjects #stuff #tradingcard #tradingcards #affinitydesigner #virtualcabinetofcuriosities #art #autobiography #illustration #bargellostitch #bargello #flamestitch #matches #matchbook #matchbookcollector @comedyworksdenver #bidwelltavern @therailpub (at Mcgrory's Cabinet of Curiosities)
