mateo is always ready to crack a joke at any given notice. he loves to laugh and to make people laugh. he’s also a huge marvel nerd, gamer, and lover of comics. so, he’ll probably always try to talk your ear off about that stuff if you let him. he also likes to pay it forward at his work a lot, trying to spread as much cheerfulness as possible. a heart of gold till the end.

BACKGROUND / BIO
one fine day a woman named maritza met another woman named caroline. the two became best friends since childhood, even going to the same high school together, and attending college together. somewhere along the lines when they had graduated college and the time to move out of their shared dorm came, they realized they were in love. the two married and for three years they were happy together, but soon they wanted to expand their family. after doing a lot of research they finally decided on a donor. almost nine months later, mateo ramirez was born to two loving parents in merrock, maine.
ever since he was a kid, he’d always been a curious person. he always had questions on how the world worked, curiosities about nature, and he was always eager to create the next big thing. he once even thought about creating a mood stereo in which you put your hand on it and it would automatically read your mood and play a song based on that, but as he got older, he realized nobody actually needed a mood stereo and abandoned the dream.
his parents were never shy about telling him about how he came to be, and mateo never really minded either. in his opinion, he sounded like he was a superhero and he just kept waiting for his powers to show up. even though his love for his moms did not falter at all, mateo was always curious as to what his biological father looked like and what he could be doing with his life. he wondered if his father ever thought about the fact that mateo existed, or the possibility that a child of his could exist out there. at a young age, he had promised himself he would meet him one day.
in school he had a lot of friends because he was usually either the one in class making everyone laugh or participating in any activity that involved sports. he got pretty good grades, too, so his teachers always looked the other way whenever he’d act like a class clown. when it came to dating, mateo never really cared to do it. it’s not that he didn’t like the idea of it, he did, he would be most happy giving his heart to someone, he just never really sat and let the idea consume him. he went on his fair share of dates, but he never made anything official. he does, however, enjoy to flirt. that’s one thing he can’t seem to get enough of.
while in college he volunteered to be part of the tech crew for his school's theatre club and instantly fell in love with it. even though part of him often thought about what it would be like to be on stage, he was happy to be the reason that the actors and actresses could shine so bright. pun intended as he often had to work on the bulbs along the catwalk as everyone else always seemed too scared. his favorite part of being part of the tech crew, however, was wearing the mic headsets during a show/tech week and getting nerdy with his fellow theatre friends.
not long after graduating high school, mateo decided to approach his parents about not wanting to dip into college right away and take time to seek out his father. with a bit of help from them, and the clinic, he soon learned his father's name. so far all he has is a name but he's happy with that for now.
