Who Cares?
Hey guys,
It has been quite some time since we released some new music for you all, May 11th, 2016 (my 26th birthday) to be exact! In the time between then and now, we have been pushing our single, ‘Room With A View’, to the moon in hopes of getting it out to the masses ('Room With A View'). I thank all who have bent an ear to listen to ‘Room With A View’ and any of our earlier releases! You are the reason we keep on creating music, and as long as one person is listening, we will continue to push forward. Our latest single, ‘Oh Yeah’, was released last Thursday and can be heard here: 'Oh Yeah'. I have never really been one to describe my music, as I would rather it speak for itself; I will not deviate from that now, so listen if you’re curious (I hope you are!).
I must say, it has been very difficult to position ourselves where we envision Material Theory to be in the music industry; however, over the past few months we have connected with some important people in the industry that have taught us lessons that only experience and time could afford someone. This business is not glamorous, or EASY; it will chew you up, spit you out, mix you up ala hotdogs and sausages, eat you again, and shit you out! I shit you not. At times, it is easy to wonder if anyone really cares about what we are doing. I believe that even the most well known artists must share those feelings at some points in their career. That said, the thrill of creating, performing, and meeting all types of people is irreplaceable, and any journey worth speaking about is filled with bumpy roads, especially at the outset!
In an effort to be as transparent as possible, this blog post will be the first of many. I welcome you to peruse and join us in conversation, as we continue to press forward in the pursuit of our dreams.
Peace & Love,
eXceL
