IB 45/45 Tip 1: daily content review!

Too often, I hear people saying “how can you cram 2 years’ content in two months for the IB exams?”

The answer is, you don’t. You have to study consistently, slowly, day by day.

If you can, after class, re-read your textbook’s sections on today’s lessons, rewrite (or re-read, or memorize) today’s class notes, and solve one or two practice problems. That way, you’ll solidify the info you learned in class, and figured out if you didn’t understand something, so that you can ask your teacher later on!

If you can’t study daily, try to do it every two days or every weekend. The key is consistency and SMALL STEPS.

This is most helpful for memorization-based classes like biology, whereas you can replace the re-reading with more practice for physics/math.

[10/9/18] 36/100 days of productivity

Math is blowing my mind and beating my ass at the same time, but I do think the test that we have next week will go considerably better than the last one, especially considering that I now have a better idea of how to prepare for them. Today has especially been really chill due to three of my teachers being out for various reasons, so I only had 3/4 classes this morning and I will only have 1/3 this afternoon which is really super nice

Standard Level’s in english only get one class a week, so I have 3 hours free between my maths and spanish classes. My school has a lounge for students to be in during their skips, but it’s usually a mess and really noisy, so I try to stay out of it. Instead, they’ve recently opened a public library next to my school, so I’m starting to spend a lot more of my time there. Today, I took some notes on differential calculus with my new highlighters and stabilo pens.

I’ve also been watching a few panel discussions on sciences and mathematics, one of which made  this rather funny joke when asked about why the findings haven’t been distributed to a wider audience:
