Smash or Pass: Mathilda
Smash
Pass
No FE character ending will ever baffle me more than Mathilda in Echoes. Her A support with Clive is basically her saying "Should I as a married woman still be a knight? Is that socially proper?" and Clive going "Yes pls I love when you kill things with a lance 😍" and then they're both like "We love killing things with lances together" and then on her ending she inexplicably retires and vanishes from the public eye when they marry after the war. Why the 180, why not make her A support anything other than the two of them talking about how it doesn't matter if it's improper she should be a knight because she loves being a knight. They couldve just made the A support about being tired of battle and wanting a different life of they were set on that ending. But it was all about hyping up her love of being a knight. It just didn't match the vibe from their A support at all.
Clair's ending has her as a knight and married and a mother, so what possessed them to be like Mathilda got married and so she has VANISHED. They did her so dirty, she had no notions of retiring young in any of her supports she loved her job.
It's been a decade since Echoes and they've yet to come up with an ending that disappoints me more.
.
the deliverance dlc for echoes did mathilda soooo dirty by not giving her any new supports. she’s supposed to be a founding officer om the same level as clive - theres no reason she wouldnt have bonds with the major characters in her army!! such a feminism loss
!!!
Python’s PoV whenever he sees Clive & Mathilda:
friends to lovers with mathilda
pairing: mathilda x gn!reader
tags: fluff, friendship, worries about unrequited feelings, kissing
mathilda and you always looked at each other in a way that was too intense for two people who claimed to just be friends
the two of you must've had feelings for each other ever since you first met, perhaps even without realizing it
but over time, those feelings became much stronger and clearer
though it seemed both of you were too afraid to say out loud what you both already knew; you were in love with each other!
but saying it out loud would change everything between the two of you and neither of you seemed ready for that yet
so you never said it out loud and instead you let your actions speak for you
after mathilda just barely managed to save you from an enemy that had sneaked up on you, the two of you shared a passionate kiss
ever since, everything had changed and you two had slowly but surely been acting more and more like a couple, sneaking kisses whenever you could
though both of you were still too afraid to say those three little words to each other…
summer mathilda
Hope it's not Clair.
