I forgot to update my beloved tumblr followers on my life but I had a problem with my exchange year so I'm not going and it sent me into a depressive episode during which I impulsively applied to go volunteering for 10 months in Estonia in a town on the Russian border so next year I'm teaching Russian speaking kids English

if you've ever curious what it's like growing up in a small town one day a teacher asked us to bring something that mattered a lot to us and a girl in my class brought a picture of her and her aunt's husband who had died a few months prior and she started crying, i then started crying because her aunt is my father's cousin so i also knew her husband, and a third girl started crying because she was that girl's mother's younger cousin so she also knew her aunt's husband. the three of us had to leave class. a guy went to check on us after a while. that guy? me and the first girl's second cousin. the teacher thought for a second it was a prank until she realized we were in fact crying for real.

the most annoying thing about tumblr randomly putting people's likes on your dash is when they just liked their mutual's personal post but now i'm seeing it. idk who this is i should not be seeing that

This is a question for people with formal 'you' in their languages

is it more common for people talk to their parents in law using informal 'you' or formal 'you' in your language? I'm talking the average person, not upper class or anything.

informal you is the norm

formal you is the norm and my family uses it

formal you is the norm but my family uses informal

I've heard several people use formal 'you' for their mother or father in law since I moved to this region or France and I was so confused
