I've spent a long time since Christmas building this new model kit; Tamiya 1/35 Matilda 2.

I have the figures to paint up before it's truly finished, but for now the tank itself is done.

Today I finally finished a kit I’ve been working on since Christmas;

Tamiya 1/35 Matilda 2 Mk4!

This is the kit I’ve easily put the most amount of time into in all my time building models. I had to utilise a variety of techniques that were completely new to me. I tried using masking tape for multicolour camouflage (I messed up the pattern on the turret, but oh well it still looks good).

I also tried out washes and textured grime for the first time to add realistic dirt, mud and oil stains. Another new technique was the effect of chipping. By layering metallic grey with reddish brown I was able to achieve a realistic look of paint chips where old baked on paint has flaked away to reveal surface rust. Combined with the new approach to painting the figurines, I think this has been my most successful build to date!

Working on building a Matilda 2 and it was fun right up until I had to build the tracks. Not great with tracks especially the small ones that need every section glued together cause my fingers are fat and I drop them constantly.

I want a sequel to Matilda where years later she’s in college and the world is going bonkers with fear over a villain emerging, a man who can move things with his mind, who is so angry and destructive, and long story short it’s Matilda’s brother, and she has to come out of hiding with her powers to challenge him to save the world, and it’s kinda sad because he’s really just messed up from their parents and he is really twisted up with guilt remembering the sister he never treated right and the way he left her behind, but it doesn’t justify him being evil garbage. His powers manifested from anger too and Matilda has to take him down.

Also Ms Honey has a wife so Matilda has TWO moms. And Matilda is kinda maybe sorta realizing she’s developed a huge crush on her roommate Lavender, her childhood best friend and the only other person in the world besides her mothers and her brother (who only ever has suspicions after that carrot incident) that knows she has powers

Started scale modeling again, dug out this old matilda model from airfix, the running gear was awful but im doing well atm
