There are not many Pearl Jams, to be honest, many groups struggle outside their scenes. However, those that don't suffer this malady manage to present a surprising vitality in their later works. Spirit by Depeche Mode might not reach their 80's or their 90's, but the disc does present us with a highly rejuvenated band. I think the fact they enlisted another producer might have something to do with this, though we shouldn't forget they became more socially conscious in their tunes there. While this dimension of theirs could be always found on their albums, they didn't really put that quality to the front before. That's why Spirit shocks us, since they've decided to tell us their own view about the contemporary situations with their patented sonic hallmarks.
