The Bucketseats' frontman, Matthew Barker may have named his new EP 'Frozen in Time', but Matthew is anything but. The Multi-Instrumentalist has never stopped creating, writing and recording and this new EP takes Barker in a new direction, a poppier, catchier sound that reveals his most creative side yet. 'Frozen in Time' was recorded at RND Records in Brisbane with the guidance of Ric Parker. The 5 track EP redefines The Bucketseats' use of instrumentation, arrangements and stylistic ideas. The Single, "I've got you on my mind" is an infectiously sunshine-bright, happy, clap-along, can't get it out of your head track - not easily forgotten, but very easily slotted into any party playlist. Barker has turned out four EPs in three years. This new EP Frozen in Time is out on April 14 on iTunes, Bandcamp, at selected stores and at his shows/festival appearances. Punching out 4 EPs in 3 years may not sound like a mean feat for some artists, but throw in the fact that Matthew is based in Central Queensland, plays music every Thursday-Sunday around Queensland, tours, rehearses and plays in other original bands, is in the middle of a University degree and has a pregnant partner AND he writes and tracks most of the parts himself.... THAT is impressive. The hard work pays dividends BIG time though. Barker has supported artists such as Ash Grunwald, Sietta, Mental As Anything, The Timbers and Bob Evans, as well as performed at many festivals (some as The Bucketseats and some with other artists) such as Bluesfest, Agnes Water Blues and Roots Festival and more. Matthew is releasing the EP on April 14 online, in select stores and at his shows. He will officially launch it as part of the Autumn Sounds Festival in Bundaberg on April 20, when he plays alongside The Cat Empire, Bluejuice, The Jungle Giants, John Steel Singers and his very good friends, The Cheap Fakes, Carl Wockner and StormChasers.
