Chiodos in Alternative Press
There is the lengthy article in the #209 issue of Alternative Press about Chiodos and the huge reunion happening and I feel the need to really sum it up.
The Chiodos article focuses on a lot of different aspects of the band. The departure of Derrick Frost, Craig Owens pain killer addiction, Reunions and the spiraling uprising and downfall of the band of eleven years.
What I gained from the article: The departure of Derrick Frost left the band in a state of downfall. The overwhelming drinking and tension built up to the band having to make some ultimatum decisions without another party being there. Craig Owens departure made for a career restart for the band. The band had just taken an elevator down and had no intentions of hitting stop right before their Warped Tour appearances in 2009.
The band has been friends with each other since high school and their reunion is described as just going back to high school and doing what everyone loved. Making amends for all those hurt and bringing back the love to the music that they had all lose since their spiral downfall.
Chiodos is now back together doing a short tour this fall and it will be back to the studio for a follow up to Bone Palace Ballet. Which is expecting a 2013 release.
We all have to remember now; These are grown men making music. I'm about to make this comparison so prepare for it. This is the same idea as when blink-182 had made their return. We can all hope it will be that same nostalgic band we loved when we were fourteen but now it's been seven years and two days since All's Well That Ends Well was released. The band hopes to return to that style of album and put all they have into it but us as fans have to accept that these guys have grown up and grown together and we may not get that same release we're all hoping for.
