"Don't worry I'm alright"- Wai Poon
Women and children at the Rice Bowl Festival in 1939 in Victoria, BC. Photograph By Matthew Ko.
Home movies shot by Mathew Ko (1909-2000), a prominent businessman and member of the Victoria Chinese community, date from about 1939 to 1950, and have been digitized and posted online by the University of Victoria Libraries Special Collections and the University Archives. His movies not only recorded family moments, but also significant local events such as a 1939 demonstration protesting the export of scrap steel to Japan because it was feared it would be used for war material, parades, the 1939 Royal Visit and fundraising parties in Chinatown to raise money for the Second World War, and the arrivals and departures of large ships.

Oh that's gd! Glad to hear he's doing well!
Matthew Ko 高钧贤
He left TVB in September last year. Heard he filmed a Mainland China drama after leaving. While he wasn't the best actor around, I was still sad to see yet another familiar (& good looking!) face leave TVB.
PS: This edit was done way back in August 2013 but I never got round to publishing it. Made some minor changes to it before posting it here. Hope u all like it! :)
