WHY WE MUSYC: Matthew Powers
I believe music is not only a sound, but a feeling. The first time I heard a guitar riff as a kid, I knew it wasn't just a sound I immediately loved but a compass that would guide my passions in life. Fast forward to now, twenty-some years later, and that small hunch I had was exactly right. I've spent the last five years getting to know my favorite musicians, but also witnessing incredible live displays of musical prowess and power, the kind only heavy music can bring about. I musyc because it expresses exactly what I'm feeling at any given time and guides me through the darkest times. It's always there for me.
