Next up were a pair of outdoor shows in the Sunshine state with Meghan. We were quite happy with the rental car I got...a Fiat. It was very peppy!
We kept hearing this song:
So we dubbed it the song of the weekend.
After we landed it was straight down to Boca. We were elated to find that we were the first two in line. The ampitheater was at the end of an outdoor strip mall...it reminded me of Beverly Hills (not that i've been there...but i assume that this is what it would look like)
I just thought there were nothing but old people in Boca...i was wrong. Its full of rich entitled people. Everyone was driving a Mercedes, Lamborghini, Range Rover or something comparable. And everyone in line were a bit spoiled....except two people we met. Her and her boyfriend were very nice :)
We were there early enough to hear sound check so we hung out at the gate to see/hear our boys. Tyson saw us and waved :)
The show was awesome. As it always is. Tyson sounded amazing and danced around to his hearts content. <3 Nick saw Meghan and I and smiled (I love when he does that...he's always so stoic on stage...) Ruby waived :)
After the show we wandered around the back to see if we could find the guys to chat. Because there was no tour bus, it ended up being harder than usual. We were hanging out where the car was that was going to take them to the hotel and Scotty came over to talk to the two of us. He was surprised we were so far from home. I was FLOORED that he remembered we were from New York (ok so Im not from NY but the other two in our AAR group are so close enough) We chatted for a bit before they all left. :)
It was pretty cool to see ourselves in Ruby's instagram pic of the show that night :)
Meghan and I drove from Boca to Port St Lucia? to spend the night. We stayed in the tractor room....seriously the jokes write themselves.
The next day was the Orlando food and wine festival. We had no idea what to expect..crowd wise...so we got there super early....to make sure we were front and center. In fact we got their so early...they hadn't even set up for the festival..so we just walked in and sat down...laid low to make sure we wouldnt be kicked out...
Then it got cold...
and then it started to rain....and then POUR...it got to the point to where i was sure we were going to need floaties to get to the stage
But as noon rolled around the rain let up and the concert began. We saw a bunch of cool artists but my favorite was the Voice winner...and for the life of me, I cant remember her name right now...ugh...either way she was cute and damn could she sing!!
AAR came on about 5:30 and played a full set. Here's a shot of Ty being Ty doing cheese on keys
At the end of the show we stuck around for a little bit trying to get picks and set lists...and because the guy standing next to us acted like a 16 year old girl and pushed me out of the way to get a pick from Nick the security guard made sure I got a set list.
We wandered around the back of the stage and Ty was walking to the RV the guys were in and saw us and shared that he nicknamed us "His Monster Girls" yeah...no idea what he means by that but when Tyson Ritter gives you a nickname you take it...haha.
We actually talked to him for a long time. I showed him the book I made about the AAR/BLG tour we all went to last year and he flipped through and laughed and commented on a few of the pics I took and stories we shared....one blueberry beer and a burger king crown come to mind...yeah...its a long couple of stories...haha.
Fan girls were circling like sharks as per usual and when one interrupted Ty to ask for a picture he came back with this: "I'm kinda doing this right now..." gesturing to Meghan and I. I almost fell on the floor.
Anyways...we chatted about a lot, and I'll keep the conversation topics to myself, because it was our moment. :)
Scotty and Ruby came over to chat with us as well and that gave Ty an easy way to tame the fan girl sharks. Scotty tried to convince Meghan and I to go see them in Ohio, because if we flew to Orlando we can drive to Ohio....haha. Nice logic there....
