Tiny Terzo guards my bass. Meanwhile, another bass gets new strings.
Tiny Terzo was an eBay find that arrived today. He’s adorable. I have him standing guard on my Sterling for scale.
My Ibanez had to have a restring today. I was curious about the half round strings. They’re interesting. Kinda feel like flat wounds but have more finger drag to them. D’Addario is the only brand I could find that carries them so this is my first set of non-Ernie Ball strings. That probably also accounts for the strange feel.
I did notice there are some marks that have formed on the fretboard. Granted, they were probably there a year ago when I bought this bass. It’s a 39 year old instrument so it’s bound to have some wear here and there. I know I’ll need to bite the bullet and re-fret the neck, but I need to do a few others before tackling this one.
Yes, I am crazy enough to attempt a fret replacement. Why not? I already rebuilt a bass (future post).
