"Are You Satisfied" by Marina fits Ashe's character perfectly

"it's not my problem if you don't see what i see" - believes that no one else can understand his pain

"my problem, it's my problem that i never am happy" - probably blames himself for a lot of his trauma, especially due to Matty's last words to him

"are you satisfied" - loses respect for Wilardo for giving up on his wish and not being as determined as him

"do i need to lie to make my way" - arguably the most deceptive character, earning Claire's trust so he can use it against her. it's a terrible thing to do, but it's necessary, in his eyes, to fulfil his goals

"high achiever" - was very much a "gifted child" back in school

"nothing comes for free" - this intelligence of his came at the cost of his "best friend" becoming jealous of him and killing his family

"driven by a greed to succeed" - his ambition to get the Witch's Heart is deadly and he is fully willing to sacrifice other lives for it

"if i want to pack up and run away" - after his family's death, he "vanished" from his town and began travelling to find a way to resurrect his family. he also "runs away" from the truth and lives in denial from the fact that his family is dead and not returning

"if i feel the need to smoke and drink and sway" - gets heavily drunk in Sirius' Conclusion before the day when he tries to kill Claire, likely to cope with it better

"it's my problem, it's my problem" - considers himself alone and believes that he has to carry his trauma and survivor's guilt all by himself

"if i feel the need to hide" - again, hides from the reality of his family's death because it's too painful to accept it. in addition, at the end of Sirius' Conclusion, after he finds himself unable to kill Claire outside the mansion, he runs away, ending up out of everyone else's sight by the time they wake up, likely out of shame

"it's my problem if i have no friends" - doesn't accept Richard's offer to vent about his loss

OKAY AMBER WAS THE ONE WHO ORIGINALLY BROUGHT THIS UP BUT NOW IM THINKING ABOUT IT

in ashe’s backstory him matty and richard all wear the same uniform but ashe is the only one wearing a bow and like.. properly wearing the uniform

like matty is wearing his somewhat normally but he doesnt have a bow

neither does richard + his shirt is even unbuttoned a little and his jackets like.. more open?? idk how to describe it

meanwhile ashe has his bow and his cardigan/jacket thing is closed and buttoned up

this actually shows their dynamic really well i think because matty and richard don’t take school as seriously as ashe, and they’re more willing to like go party and stuff and just overall not as like studious as him?? i cant think of the right word but like their uniforms are more of a loose interpretation rather than sticking to a strict routine like ashe’s does, and richard even has his more open + a little unbuttoned, which shows how hes not taking the same like education path as ashe and matty and isn’t as “smart” as them and is more of a socially focused person

meanwhile ashe’s uniform is all buttoned up and has a bow, which makes you think that hes the only one whos actually wearing it right, which shows how he takes his academics really seriously and is way more academically focused than matty and richard, even the fact that his cardigan is buttoned up shows how he’s not as like socially open as the other two?? and not willing to open up like his emotions to them or pretty much anyone because hes more focused on studying and school than anything else

ALSO if you look at noel’s outfit, it looks really similar to ashe’s uniform both in color and in sihoulette, with the dark blue cardigan/blazer over a white undershirt with a popped collar and also the bow!! i think that’s a really cool detail which adds to their parellels even more.. maybe noel’s style is similar to what ashe’s was in the past??
