quick reminder that we don't believe in thought crimes. even when they're about real people. even when the person having the thoughts enjoys said thoughts, or--god forbid--feels a want or urge to actually enact them. so long as no real person gets actually, genuinely hurt, we don't care.

banging my head on a bed of nails and eating rubber erasers. why can't people just shut up about "npd abuse" and "narcissistic abuse" for once.

that's not a thing. it's just not. a disorder isn't a form of abuse. it isn't an attack on you personally. the [thing] in [thing] abuse describes a part of you that was abused (not the best wording but it's the best i can come up with when i'm pissed). not a descriptor of the abuser. if someone abused you, then label it by the part of you that was abused: emotional abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, financial abuse. i'm not a fucking abuser just because i have npd.

the only people who should be claiming npd abuse are people with npd who are getting abused by assholes saying we're inherently evil and deserve to be fucking mass murdered because of a disorder that we did not ask for and cannot control.

so in the main fandom we're part of, a new blog has popped up where you can send confessions about the series or the fandom itself, and the moderator has just confirmed that you can, in fact, send confessions about specific people.

i get the feeling this is going to go very, very badly. especially since there's not a whole lot of people, at least on the Tumblr end of the fandom, who you could talk about that people would actually know.

*sigh* and it was such a peaceful fandom too, at least generally. "this fandom tends to be more well-behaved than other fandoms", someone said. well. it probably won't be for much longer
