@vulgarweed -- would we be having this conversation about, say, the word "faggot" or the "n" word for black people? Would you then try to qualify your slur by saying "By N, I only mean those black people who are on the dole, or steal, or riot . . ."?
Of course not, because I don’t think they’re comparable at all. “Radfem” on that post refers to a specific school of feminist thought, not a marginalized class of people or by far the majority of feminists. I certainly am a feminist, and I didn’t take it as insulting to me at all, because I don’t follow that particular line of thought that has proven itself to be harmful to other women within the feminist movement such as trans women, sex workers, rape and abuse survivors who don’t process their experiences in the proper approved ways, kinky women, etc. This is being used in the context of the Feminist Sex/Porn Wars of the 80s version 2.0, Now With Added Internet Drama.
