Oh man! This is hard. I guess, if I were to create a character, she would be an analog and amalgam of Princess Irulan (Dune Miniseries) and Irene of Attolia. Born to be married off to a magnetic Prince destined to rule the empire, but dies an untimely death leaving the Princess, now Empress/Queen to hold the reins of a very fractured kingdom using all her cunning. She starts out as naive and ends up to be one of the most powerful people in the Empire.
