An anecdote in Elysée Wednesday from my friend Paolo Migliorini Brizzolari: "Dear Stephen, some days ago I met Mauro Forghieri at a conference. He told some anecdotes, and one in particular for sure you would enjoy. Once in the sixties, the Ferrari Team was at Brands Hatch for a race, and mechanics were tired of eating sandwiches. So they prepared a pot, warmed the water with the blowtorch, and cooked spaghetti. Lambrusco wine was never absent. Immediately, the mechanics of Team Lotus joined, and they were so satisfied. And they saved money, an argument so dear to Enzo Ferrari. One of the mechanics in Ferrari was a very good cook as a hobby, and he was delegated to organize the lunches regularly. His name is Luigi Montanini, soon renamed 'Pasticcino'. This is the birth of the hospitality so as we know today... And Pasticcino, after so many years in Ferrari (and a couple of years in Benetton and Prost), now has a restaurant near to Maranello, where the kitchen is very good and his fondness in telling stories of races is unique. Pasticcino and his restaurant are waiting for us. Bon appetit !" #ferarrari #ferrariworld #formula1 #mauroforghieri #enzoferrari #brandshatch #teamlotus #filmmaker
