Maverick Hearst, aka the coolest ever reality TV star, and longterm friend of Layla’s… also the face of her company. Basically, Mav was incredible, despite the fact that she and Royce were complicated. If it were anyone else, Layla likely wouldn’t have remained friends with them after that dumpster fire of a breakup, but Mav meant a lot to her. So did Royce. In the end, that was what mattered most to Layla. Love, at the end of the day, always was what drove her.
The second she saw Maverick out of the corner of her eye, Layla caught her friends eye and winked. Layla recognized the dress as her own design right away. Although she’d never told Mav how much it meant to her that she wore her designs so proudly, she’d never found the right sentimental touchy-feely moment. One day, Layla was going to have to, but right now, she just approached her friend and hugged her tightly. “You look amazing,” she said, a note of gratitude in her voice. “How did I get so lucky to have the most beautiful woman alive wearing my designs?”
