X heaved a sigh, gently squeezing Zeros palm in return as his partner ruffled his hair. While he was somewhat annoyed, he was still smiling. Even while Zero was intoxicated he was still pretty endearing and affectionate, and X liked that.  “Well.. You don’t have to sleep, maybe we could just cuddle.” Surely an offering like that would be enough to get him to cooperate? Besides, he’d feel somewhat safer being able to watch Zero while he slept, to make sure he stayed okay. Could Reploids even get alcohol poisoning? Doubtful, but could they get hangovers? Probably, and he wanted to be there to take care of him just in case one knocked at his door.  X was still somewhat surprised that Zero had even touched alcohol. Well, actually, no he wasn’t, he could picture Zero having a couple glasses of wine every now and then but not enough to actually get him drunk. Maybe he didn’t mean to get drunk and just got totally slammed on accident, or maybe he was well aware of how much alcohol he was consuming and he just didn’t care. If the latter, they’d definitely need to have a talk in the morning.

       ❝ I said it looks like you have headlights on your chest-piece, is there something wrong with your hearing ? ❞ The blondes palms resided atop his hips as he spoke, arching a brow at the taller male as his boot impatiently tapped the cement below a handful of times.

      ❝ So, who are you ? You don’t look like Linebeck, you don’t even look Hylian for that matter ! In fact, no one here does, whats up with this place ? ❞

“Hey, hey! It’s okay! It’s okay, calm down..” X’s arms wrapped firmly around his partner, only prevailing to pull him closer once he let out a shrill scream and arched forward. “It was just a dream, I promise, you’re okay; you’re safe.”  The Reploids brows furrowed as he leaned up to rest his chin atop Zeros head, one arm holding him close while the other soothingly ran through his blonde locks. He never had nightmares. He especially never had nightmares that made him wake up screaming, or, if he did.. X wasn’t there to witness it. He was too caught up in calming his partner down to recall the reason why he’d decided to spend the night in his room, although was now glad that he made that choice. “Yeah, it’s me.” The brunette paused to loosen his grip, although couldn’t think of much more to say. He didn’t want to ask Zero what the dream was about, but at the same time that was the only thing coming to thought. Maybe it would relax him to talk about it, maybe it would help X understand the situation better and how to help him out more, but maybe he should wait till he was fully calm.

He was surprised to say the least, but.. Not in a bad way. Maybe he wouldn’t have been so flustered if Zero wouldn’t have just walked in and without warning started to kiss at the corners of his eyes, but then again, this was Zero.

“..Zero?” X asked in a soft tone, not even noticing his hands resting atop his partners shoulders out of sheer impulse. “Uh- hey there. Have you came to terms with being gay yet or are you gonna try and twist this into not being homosexual too?” Of course that last part was supposed to be a joke, as presented by the Reploids grin and bubbly, although sheepish laughter in his voice.

X’s emerald optics gently fluttered open upon the feeling of another body climbing into bed with him. Of course he was alerted by it, but before he could glance over his shoulder to see who it was he felt a familiar figure snuggle up close to his back, armor pressing firmly up against him. That was Zero. It was okay. What he felt next confirmed it. Feeling the same, large white-gloved hand rub against his hair in a comforting manner, then sliding to his nose, cheek, chin, chest.. And then finally ending up meeting his fingers. He was too tired to question it. X’s palm delicately intertwined with his partners as he felt himself melt into Zeros touch. A warm smile made its way onto his synthetic features as he stared forward with half-lidded emerald optics, overtaken with the feeling of comfort and protection. The Reploids eyes shut once more as he started,“..Zero?” His voice was soft and sleepy, immediately followed by a yawn.

@maveriickhunter ( arranged starter ) “Z-Zero? Are you alright?” The Reploid asked in a soft tone, studying his partner with wide, emerald optics. Tense was definitely the only word to describe X at the moment. As of late, Zero had been going into random persona swaps where he’d go Maverick (probably only for like 30 seconds) and in that 30 seconds, he’d do all he could to wreck X. Even if he wasn’t even within eyes range, he’d find him one way or another and would beat him until he snapped back to normal, rushed him back to the base and would repetitively apologize to him for the rest of the day. This happening once or twice? He could understand. But he seemed to be getting into this routine almost daily, and each time a little bit more of his sanity leaves him, he stays in the Maverick persona for a little bit longer, and a little bit more of X gets broken. He was honestly a pretty fragile little guy, and it didn’t take too much to hurt him. Especially if you’re a Maverick who’s caught him completely vulnerable. All he could really do was take the beating and the pain to come along with it, he would never draw his buster on his partner no matter the cause. But X had noticed a flicker from blue to red in Zeros eyes. All he could find himself thinking was ‘Not again. Please, not again. I won’t be able to tolerate the pain any longer.’

   “ Hmph. Ahab is absolutely mad if she thinks she’s going to get away with this little show she’s putting on! I’ll be sure to give her a piece of my mind! Is anyone else with me? ”

Geno exclaims, adjusting his hat just a bit as he spoke.
