Umbro Archon Lore
Pre-Archon War
Before the creation of Mavripolis, it used to be a nation called Terra Tenebrarum, and was ruled by Erebenne, the God of Darkness. A few centuries had passed and from his own shadow, it drew its first breath of life. For the next two millennia, the God and his shadow would rule over Terra Tenebrarum together hand-in-hand.
During the Archon War
At the start of the Archon War, Erebenne had created a void that surrounded all of Terra Tenebrarum, to prevent any God and Dragon from entering the realm; it was before that when Erebenne discovered a path that led to a hollow world underneath the entire island, filled with Abyssal power. The God became curious and tempted which eventually led to him becoming mad with power from the Abyss, half a century later, Erebenne had locked himself in the hollow earth, as an attempt to consume the Abyssal power for himself. The God’s shadow had stayed by his side with no choice, the both of them abandoning the nation as they descended into madness together. Eventually the shadow was at its breaking point, it developed its own physical form, and in a fit of madness, they stabbed Erebenne multiple times, before he finally succumbed to his wounds and bled out. But because of the amount of Abyssal power Erebenne absorbed, it had integrated itself with his blood; infecting both the Shadow and the soil of the Hollow Earth. By the time the Shadow had left the Hollow Earth, they had assumed a new identity: Skia, and had taken over Terra Tenebrarum. However during her absence, a giant dragon by the name Drakos Pythonas, had surrounded the void that protected the nation, attempting to shatter the barrier and destroy the nation. Skia had managed to slay the dragon but not without their fight splitting the island into an archipelago of nine islands. After that she had proclaimed her title as the God of Spirit, and renamed the nation as Mavripolis.
Post-Archon War
Since there were supposed to be only 7 Archons, Skia had to improvise, so she went to Celestia and offered the heart of Erebenne, proclaiming she put a stop to a mad God, and protected her nation from a dragon who threatened to destroy it. The Heavenly Principles didn’t intend for an 8th Archon, let alone an 8th element considering there was no sovereign of a darkness element, but with Skia’s accomplishments and offering, they reluctantly took Erebenne’s heart and split it into two pieces, a Divine Throne, and a Gnoses; while granting her the name of Bune, and unofficial status of Umbro Archon.
During the Cataclysm
1,500 years later, Skia was involved in the Cataclysm as the Umbro Archon. During the Battle at Tunigi Hollow, Skia had noticed some of the Abyssal power had escaped from the Harvisptokhm, she managed to catch it before the abyss latched onto and sunk into her flesh, merging with the abyssal power as it began to spread all over her body, however Skia managed to stop the spread at her hands and feet. At Mavripolis, there had been a leak of Abyssal power coming from an entryway of the Hollow Earth, at Vesper Island, a part of the Mavripolis Crossroads. The citizens had managed to flee the island before the abyss came into contact with them, all except for one, Ladon of Vesper Island, a dragon of 100 heads who had slept through the Archon War and Cataclysm. The Abyss had awoken and drove him mad, causing him to nearly destroy the island had Skia not made it in time and killed him.
Post-Cataclysm
The Cataclysm had made Skia tired, but she couldn’t rest and leave Mavripolis alone to fend for itself once more, so she had chosen a person of the nation who holds one of the first umbro visions as her Oracle, a spokesperson of the Archon to the people, and the founder of the nation’s governing body, the Oracle of Trimorphis Enodia. With the Oracle blessed with longevity, Skia had holed herself into the Hollow Earth once more, willingly for the next 2 centuries, planning her next move for her nation.
Current Timeline
From her sailors of the Proelium Legion back from Fort Oplophoros, Skia had heard rumors of a traveler and their pet fairy, going from nation to nation, asking the other Archons about their missing twin. Considering how she is not seen as a part of the original seven in most of the nations, Skia hardly thought of the traveler coming here to Mavripolis for answers. Disregarding the rumors she continued on preparations for the Olympiads, a grand festival that occurs every 4 years. By the time the festival had started its main event, the Magnus Games, the traveler had arrived, followed by the 10th Fatui Harbinger: Zanni.
