Strange creatures didn’t frighten him in the slightest. He was far from normal, given he was part werecat and part neko. One of which, was known for its aggression and anger. But there was no way that Natsume would know about Lethe’s real being by first glance. At the moment, he seemed to be... human. Which, unfortunately, Natsume could not conceal himself like the other could. His father could, thanks to being a werecat, and so could his brother. The only one that shared his troubles was his mother, but his mother could wear a disguise. Natsume was not that fortunate.
He could hide his tail and his ears, sure, but he could not hide his nails. If he could, then he wouldn’t be confined to the house. Nobody wanted to work with those sharp nails. They were dangerous. Besides, it was even difficult for him to do simple things that most could do. Such things as holding a pen or pencil, or even utensils, was a challenge for him. Disfigured hands couldn’t possibly be able to engage in work, at that point. They were far too crippled. Nobody would want to hire him, even if he could manage his claws.
A soft exhale slid from plush lips. He was silent as he watched Lethe, wondering what it was like to be normal. Eventually, though, he realized that he was staring. Bright blue, cat-like, eyes turned downwards as his tail wrapped around his leg. All he could do was hope that the other had not seen him. Interactions with others were not his strong suit, due to how he was raised.
