The sacrifice point inside the Mawphlang sacred grove. . The Seng Khasis of Meghalaya (the indigenous people belonging to the Khasi Hills, who did not adopt Christianity) do not believe in idol worship. Rather they worship Nature. This large erect stone slab (monolith) symbolises the Nature God and the group of small moss-covered boulders is the sacrificial alter. Elders of the local Lyngdoh community perform the rites here to appease the deity protecting the grove. .
