Cool article by Max Easton. Regardless of the subject matter - the fairly recent “Snake and Friends” LP on RIP Society, with a bit of Ego Summit thrown in for good measure – it manages to cover grassroots music and the communities evolving around it in a meaningful, engaging, thought-provoking way. The concept of “scenius” instead of “genius” is an important one to consider for whoever is interested in different, more discerning ways of thinking about and comprehending “music communities”, or communities in general for that matter.
