The day after the Great Escape we went ( in a fairly fragile state!)  up to Uckfield FM to do some live chat, songs and stuff. Loved it. Chris and Dave were legends :) Anyhow here is a samll snippet from the end of the interview, talking about Second Nature. Will be going back soon hopefully to do more live .

Shadow Puppets

Second Nature was recorded almost by accident when Max and Zal were in the studio working on click tracks. Max had been playing it to Zal in rehearsals the day before and as it was still buzzing around in his head the next day, he felt it would be only right to commit it to record and let it fly the nest. This is probably what inspired the shadow puppet bird theme that he suggested for the video, which although looks deceptively simple, in some ways actually took more work than the other two videos together. It certainly took more hours to film and edit and that was without the construction of the puppets, shadow screen and props.

Well worth it though, Zal has manged to capture the sensitivity of the song with a striped down naivety that perfectly demonstrates the songs quiet sadness.
