the concept of morrigan and Whoever (in this case alistair) doing the dark ritual behind the hof's back is so tasty. because honestly addy already hates that she made alistair king even though he didn't want it, and so to force him into something else he doesn't want for the greater good just feels so wrong to her. and i did make her do it in my playthrough but honestly i think i might prefer it like this. she doesn't tell him about the ritual. she decides that these months in which she got to be not in a prison tower and also make wonderful friends and fall in love and feel like she's doing good and making a difference-- that these months were a gift but of course she can't have too many good things. it's okay for her to die at the end, that's okay. she can do it. no one else has to, she'll help. and she doesn't tell zev and he doesn't confess until right before the final battle and then all of a sudden it's all too much but it's okay, she hates to hurt him like this right when he finally realized he loves her, but she's already decided and she can't go back.
and then she fucking lives.
