Letting Her Hunt | Bambi + Max
Bambi was getting frustrated with her situation with Max. She had been starved way too long. The animals that the hunter gave her wasn't nearly enough to keep her ancient body working properly. It was like she was put on a diet of water and crackers, and expected to be functional afterwards. Things just didn't work that way, and Bambi was surprised that Max didn't know it worked that way. Or, no, maybe he was just trying to 'do his job.' To 'save' people. What it was doing was killing her off - and maybe that was intention all along. He was a hunter. He was having a bit of fun with it. But that didn't stop her from trying to save herself.
Weakly sitting up, Bambi looked over to Max. She hoped she looked pathetic to him. Maybe it would make him pity her. Let her eat a real meal. For what seemed to be the millionth time since she arrived, Bambi asked him, "Can you let me hunt?" Of course the answer was going to be no, but maybe he was but it was worth a shot.
