to get this wonderful piece from one of my all favorite artists! Back on duty saving this beautiful woman's life.

How do you get into the art trades? Have fun out there.

Art trades?  I’m guessing you mean the art jams.

Once upon a time icymasamune and I were talking about how we didn’t want all of our time working on art taken up by projects or commissions- basically obligations to other people or things we viewed as work.  So we came up with the idea of doing art jams, just something fun to do each week to vary things up and encourage social facilitation.  Currently we have a main group of people, our central circle of friends and peers basically, that hang out in a google hangout and consistently participate from week to week.

Every week one of the participating artists picks a theme for the week (anything from a commercial IP for personas/fanart to something simple and basic like “OC’s favorite food”), and on rare occasions (I think it’s only happened twice before this week’s theme) we do something that’s sorta like a round robin/”art-it-forward” where we’re assigned to draw a different artist’s character or persona according to the theme.  

Outside of art jams I really don’t do anything like trades with people who aren’t close friends.  It’s just too much stress for me :P
