I made a series of pieces based on my goth4goth ships to celebrate! I really adore how these turned out, and I’m so happy to finally share them as they’ve been sitting in my gallery for over a week :] It was fun getting to put together unique outfits for everyone that reflected (my interpretation of) each person’s individual style. Even in the two showcased Pokémon ships, I went for a different interpretation of Mira based on the context of the ship. It might seem silly, especially with the way goth/alt culture is treated as a costume these days, but the identity has been part of me since childhood, as well as my interest in fashion, and I wanted to illustrate those passions in a fun way that also pays proper respect to the subculture. Again, I’m really happy with these! And I hope you all like them, too :>
And here’s a lil bonus I did for funsies:
Ferdinand! Because I wanted to see him in something that deeply contrasted his usual look ^^
I also wasn’t gonna do Corbeau at first (he was the original bonus I vaguely posted about), but I can point a finger at why I think he belongs here regardless (his glasses chain—I feel like it’s so unnecessary in such a perfect “I’m goth but I’m also running the French yakuza so I can’t advertise it like crazy” compromise), but also he does say this:
WHICH is played off as a joke because someone can’t read the room, but also, to me, implies that he could have chosen to wear anything and chose to wear this. And it could be explained away but intimidation factor or what have you, but I do like the idea of this little corp goth guy running a not-so-shady shady organization. Not to mention his name translates to “crow”, one of the most commonly utilized animals in gothic media—ALRIGHT PLAS YOUR POINT IS MADE you’re arguing with a wall 💀 Ahem. Happy World Goth Day, beloveds!!
