Maximum Summer: The Bepstein Documentary is a 53-minute film about a 26-year-old man who doesn't want to grow up. Ben Epstein is the bassist in DC punk trio The Max Levine Ensemble, he's the guy who controls the Jumbotron for the Baltimore Orioles. His favorite things are the same as when he was 14: pizza, ice cream and kickball. Maximum Summer follows a project called song-a-day, in which Ben ("Bepstein") attempts to write and record a song a day for a month. At first, the recording sessions are a gathering place for all the kids in the neighborhood. But soon Bepstein's friend group begins to fragment and he must face some realities about getting older...
