The Reimagining (Max Character Development)
I. Waking up in a cold sweat, Max first grabs the air in front of him, then takes in as much air as he can. Reaching for the lamp next to his bed, his hand is stopped by another. "max. it's okay. it was only a dream. trust me." Sans' caring eyes meet Max's fearful ones as they seemingly, in that moment, become one being.* "i know bad dreams." "... Thank you." For what, Sans wanted to ask, but he knows that they both need rest. "you're welcome, kid." Sans lays back down on the bed across the room. "we'll continue to train tomorrow." Max was already well asleep again; sighing, Sans lays back down to try to get even a little bit more sleep tonight. ---------- "COME ON, HIT ME WITH THEM HARDER!" Undyne was urging Max more today than she has ever had before, trying to unlock any new potential with his abilities. The grass was just freshly cut, the brisk near-autumn air filled their lungs, and Sans' snoring is a perfect c# pitch: everything feels right. "YOU THINK YOU CAN KICK MY ASS WITH ONLY THESE MARBLES!?" The midday sun in his eyes, Max creates more orbs of magic out of his fingertips: yellow, just like the other ones. Sending them full force, Max's confidence rockets in the form of an audible battlecry. Suddenly, the orbs shatter right before Undyne could block them, sending shards of magic hurdling towards her. In a split second, all of the glass-like magic shards were in Undyne, causing her to collapse. "Undyne!" As fast as he could, Max gets to Undyne to help her, if he can. Before he could even touch her, Undyne begins to laugh. "You DID it, kid! I TOLD you those marbles did something mo-!" Undyne winces with pain, but shrugs it off. "Hey um, think you could get these out somehow?" "Uh, um yeah," Max stumbled. With a combination of mentally imagining the shards being removed from Undyne's body and physically pulling his fingers away from her, the shards seamlessly removed themselves from Undyne. "That feels MUCH better!" Before Max could accept any form of gratitude, Undyne swings the rod of her spear, hitting Max directly on his forehead. "You're lucky I only gave retribution for every minute I was in pain, kid!" Laughing, Undyne goes over to the lawn chairs to sit. "Hey, why are you laying down? Get back to honing your energy!" Attempting to recover from the near-concussion Undyne nearly brought him, Max feels the energy around him: the sky, the earthen land, the life. "I'll master this one day." ((Okay, hii~! So I'm going to be writing this story called the Reimagining. It will cover how Sans and Max met, how Undyne got with them, everything in between, and what happens after. I've really wanted to do more with this blog and now I'm going to, sincerely starting now! BTW, I'm still TOTALLY taking asks and whatnot! :3 Have a great day, everyone!))
