Geto appeared again--the second time Nanami has seen him. The last time, at the very least, he had been in a base on the moon. His voice on the phone was real, his back pressed to the other man's back was real.
This place still didn't feel real.
Geto passes him by, walking by the shoreline, in a Hawaiin shirt of all things. Carelessly, dragging ghosts behind him. Nanami couldn't remember the exact numbers, but he'd seen them. The bodies in the aftermath.
Geto has a lot of faces. The top of their class in martial arts, the monk who ran a cult, the voice on the phone. If the man was cursed, who would even know which face to start with?
Nanami stands up, dropping the book. He walks over, knowing his presence will be felt, anyway. The man recognized him on the spot the first time, after all.
"Walk with me. We'll find a private spot to talk."
