Well folks, my time has come. I finally have reason and opportunity to go to Chicago. If you've been, drop your #1 rec below. Food, tours, things to do, etc.

Some takeaways I learned on my trip to Chicago:
1. The Dave Matthews Band bus incident and the Upstead apartment are the same location. No correlation there, but I did laugh.
2. People say "whew-ee" in all seriousness. I love it.
3. Drivers in this city are reckless as heck with pedestrians in the crosswalk, and I say that as someone who has spent a lot of time in LA and NYC.
4. There are bees on Navy Pier. Lots of them.
5. The Riverwalk can't take a bad picture.
6. Did the show film in Wicker Park often? They should have. The houses made me swoon.
6. The food is great. Incredible. Fantastic. New York pizza is still better.
Edit to add 7. There are so many locations (Greektown, 12th street beach) that are so different than I pictured and what I've described in stories. That's my bad.
I heard the words "go to two" out in the wild for the first time in a long time today, and I gotta say I did not understand the implications of this username when I made it a few years ago. I really thought that 50+ year old production dude had made me on tumblr dot com 😭
If I can yell about something personal, I started a new job recently. A bit of a mixed bag, but hopefully a launching point that can lead where I'm really trying to go.
If I can yell about something else personal, improper walkie etiquette may send me to an early grave before I get there.
Tonight I introduced my niece to Elton John and George Michael and Billy Joel and Leo Sayer and Fleetwood Mac and John Williams and the About Time main theme. Idk y'all, one month old seemed like a good age to start pushing my agenda.
Are any of y'all into March Madness? I need to know how annoying I should be about it on this hellsite.
Going home is always a bit of a trip these days. There is a lot of good (I'm going to be an aunt!) and a decent amount of bad (not internet-worthy), but the biggest takeaway of this visit is that my parents' neighbor impulsively bought a horse and the entire neighborhood has agreed to just not acknowledge it.
I love living in a big city. A nice Saturday afternoon walk, breeze in my hair, tea in my hand, someone dropping trow to crouch and pee on the sidewalk in front of me. Unmatched.
