If I haul ass by the guard gate of the Warner Brothers lot like in La La Land, how far would I get realistically?

Realistically, how fast are you? 😂

With the caveat that I'm not endorsing this, you could physically run by the gates in the sense that they are not solid walls. Like yeah, there's an usually an arm that raises and lowers for cars, but you could feasibly run by it and get somewhat far before someone caught you, if you booked it.

The reality is, however, that you'd be on camera the entire time. At Warner Bros or any other major lot. Pretty much every angle is on camera, apart from obvious private spaces. So yes you can run, but you won't disappear and you will eventually be caught, unlike in La La Land. Don't trust Ryan Gosling.

I've seen breaches on major film lots twice. One of them is actually a searchable story if you know what to search, so I'll skip that so as to not give away where I worked and when. For the other, I was on a walkie and we got an all-call saying "if you see someone on the lot with XYZ description, contact security. Don't engage with them". They found them within minutes, and to this day I have no idea how they actually got on the lot. Maybe they hauled ass.

All to say, there are easier ways to see a film lot and much more fun things to do in LA other than being arrested for a good story.

Does Anna Pigeon look how you expected it so far?

I think the most consistent thing about my thoughts regarding Anna Pigeon is that I've had no idea what to expect 😂

I've read books #1 and #2, and I'll start the flashback book (I think it's #17?) when I can get a copy of it. I'm excited for the show. I'll admit I had a hard time "finding" Tracy in the character I was reading on the page at first, but I see it a lot more now. I do think the show will be a little lighter in tone, but that can also be the marketing strategy, which could be its own thing.

I did get well into book #2 and have to do a deep imdb dive to find characters named Christina and Ally because that's one of my favorite dynamics in shaping Anna's character. I'll be a bit bummed if they have a lesser role, but I'm also just curious to see how they adapt this to screen. I know some things will change.

Isn't it funny how big of a deal being an "OG" on Chicago pd is to some fans except when it comes to Jesse? It's as if he stole from them by being invited back for the crossover 🙄

It's been like that for a loooooong time though, even well before his exit. I don't care much about the "OG" thing and I don't think that's what makes a character interesting/more important, but if you want to play that game then yeah, he and Voight are the true "OG's" for the franchise since they appeared earliest (see, it's silly).

Oh well. He deserved to have the chance to fix the awful ending given to the character he helped build. Budgets are tight. Both are true 🤷🏼‍♀️

How would we find out when Anna Pigeon premiere is & will public be able to attend?

Premiere events typically happen a bit before the wide release of the show, but generally the public does not attend.

They are usually invite-only. Some have allowed guests (though it's almost never uncontrolled), but I think if Anna Pigeon were doing so you would have seen by now. We'll see as/after it happens.

It's seems that laroyce was fired from the show 😥 so sad he was the best

I won't argue with you that Laroyce is fantastic, but I will argue that he was fired. This might be a technicality of the entertainment industry, but I think it's important.

"Fired" when it comes to an actor being released is generally reserved for those leaving in bad standing. Behavioral issues, said something inexcusable, hurt someone, abusive etc. That's who gets fired. While I concede we don't know any of the cast or any details here, I don't believe that's the case.

If I'm being honest, I would guess LaRoyce's exit might be similar-ish to what I believe Jesse's was in that it comes down to negotiations and money. I'm not saying they'd be exactly the same because every negotiation is different, every person is different, and there are definitely fair questions raised about the number of black actors who are released from Wolf shows, but I think money is always the root of it all. Some way, somehow. The numbers don't work for one party, and it falls apart from there. It's a frustrating way for a long run on a show to end, but it's also the reality we've seen for many shows where long-running actors have to negotiate over and over as the show keeps going.

Maybe I'm wrong. This is my best guess. I just think it's appropriate to keep reminding fans that we don't know these people, we don't know the details, and claiming that an actor was fired probably isn't the best framing of the situation.

Also, I agree. Season 9 is my answer, personally. Maybe hindsight is 20/20, but that showrunner handoff is such a clear line for me.

Voight, Jay, Kevin, Kim, Hailey, and Adam were/are the core for so long. By ending at nine, they could have crafted a really satisfying conclusion for the team together rather than see them out pitifully one by one while those remaining are dawdling.

Oh well. It is what it is. Lots of factors go into the decision to keep a show going, and there isn't much we can do about it either way. I'm good with my characters' endings now, all things considered. I hope Kevin gets a conclusion he deserves.

Sounds like One Chicago is about to have even more extensive budget cuts… when will enough be enough?

Yeah you're preaching to the choir here. I've said they should have ended those shows like two to three seasons ago, and I still stand by that.

I understand there are money and business conversations in the middle of all this, but I will always value the creative more in a storytelling medium. When you're at the point that you're losing (or having to lose) actors every season and the writing is noticeably weaker and the stories have allllll run their course, I will always argue that it's time to wrap it up so the next stories can be told.

Do you think Tracy will have a love interest in Anna Pigeon because of the book?

Well, we see in the trailer that she does- to some extent. Based on the books they're drawing from, she'll likely more than one in different capacities. What liberties they take for the show, we shall see.

I will say, USA Network was very tame with romance back in my day (the 2000s to early 2010s). Mostly in the line of... kiss, unbutton the shirt, fade to black.
