May Reeves was Charlie’s on and off again companion/love during his time away from the states in 1931/1932. In 1935 she published a memoir of their time together, edited by Claire Goll, it was later translated into English

What is unique about her story, as compared to Lita Grey, Georgia Hale or other tell alls, May Reeves was written fairly close to the time of their relationship.

1931 Charlie Chaplin and May Reeves (don't know name of woman in the center)

May Reeves was Charlie’s on and off again companion/love during his time away from the states in 1931/1932. In 1935 she published a memoir of their time together, edited by Claire Goll, it was later translated into English (I have not read the book).

What is unique about her book compared to Lita Grey, Georgia Hale..., May Reeves was written fairly close to the time of their relationship.

Charlie Chaplin and May Reeves, his on/off again companion while touring Europe 1931/1932.

In 1935 May wrote a memoir of their time together, it was in French but approx 15 years ago translated into English, called “The Intimate Charlie Chaplin”.

I have not read it, of the tell alls I have read I’m always skeptical, though May Reeves was written much closer to the time period they were together, compared to Georgia Hale’s written almost 60 years (1985), Lita Grey’s a little closer at approx 40 years (1966).
