A Distant Sadness | Maya & Skylar
Her fist landed its target again and she felt the bones in the recruit’s face scratch hard against her own. She didn’t care about the possibility of breaking her chuckles or cut them brutally open. It hadn’t been a smart move but Skylar hardly cared about being smart right now. She did however care about the force she unleashed on her victim, the injury and pain she let rain down on him. It was fantastic to be able to let her anger run wild; to make every forceful punch hit hard, to have the absolute control over her actions. She almost enjoyed herself! Yet it didn’t lessen the sore point inside her hear, it didn’t fill the void inside her. Her anger made her stronger and even less hesitant to be brutal but it was not enough to act on it because it didn’t solve what was truly her problem. She didn’t think that anyone could cure her problem.
The realisation made the brunette stop in mid-punch and suddenly she lost any motivation to cause pain in her victim. She didn’t let her fist rain down again; instead she stumbled back to her feet with her face void of even the fury that had burned in her eyes before. Did she really care about the harm she had done to his recruit? Was it going to make her feel better? Obviously enough she didn’t feel sorry for abusing her sparring partner as an outlet for her overwhelming emotions. Life was screwing with all of them anyway. She pushed the strands of her hair back, which had escaped her ponytail, no starting to feel the damage that she had done to her hands.
Her chest was rising and falling fast and only when she had brought some distance between herself and her partner, she allowed herself to think of what consequences her actions might bring. She looked at her hands and noticed that white tape had turned partially stained with red. “Fuck this.”, she murmured under her breath and went to walk towards medical to get herself patched up.
