there used to be a "Maya Fox face" contest in Maya Fox magazines or something like that in 2011. I'm belatedly participating
Maya Fox is a series of horror comics and novels from Rainbow SpA, an Italian studio owned by Iginio Straffi and (formerly) Viacom at the time of the series' conclusion. The franchise's title character was co-created by Straffi, known for his previous creation Winx Club, and Silvia Brena, the former director of Cosmopolitan Italy. Straffi and Brena co-wrote each of the comic issues and four Maya Fox novels. The series follows a young woman named Maya Fox who lives in London. After her father is murdered by a serial killer named Michael Gacy, Maya discovers that she has the ability to speak with the dead. While avoiding Gacy, she works to prevent an apocalypse in 2012.

Maya Fox character art, a cancelled series at Rainbow
As taken from the Fandom Wiki:
Maya Fox is a series of comics and novels from Rainbow SpA, an Italian studio that is well-known for its cartoon Winx Club. The series was co-created by Silvia Brena and Iginio Straffi (creator of Winx Club). Straffi also designed all of the series' characters, who are always shown in black-and-white.
The franchise was aimed at a "young adult" audience, dealing with murder mysteries and the end of the world, with gothic and emo aesthetics. A movie and a TV series were planned but ended up being quietly cancelled. Despite good comic books sales, the books were slammed critically.
Notice how similar the comic art is to Winx Club's artstyle! This may be Iginio Straffi's only known credited art outside of his Bonelli work.
A live action "trailer" to promote the series was made, narrated by Christian Iansante (who you may know for being RickSanchez's italian voice... and Gantlos). Warning for flashing lights!

Maya Fox: Chapter 1, Beyond the Grave
Before Fate, there was Maya Fox
It's my room, if it's all messed up it's my fucking business!
To expand upon this post, Maya Fox was Iginio Straffi's first venture on a franchise for teenagers and young adults, with themes of death, drugs and lots of edgy sex! Its comics and various official art followed Winx Club's artstyle, on top of a promotional live action photo models and a trailer.
The official website back in 2009
Sex! Occult! Mystery! Murder! All things Straffi always said he was proud of never delving in deeply about in Winx Club... all conveniently grouped here for Maya Fox's first magazine issue! While Winx still feels timeless, this screams "twilight fad timecapsule"
On her blog, Maya Fox's character would write like My Immortal's author, using SMS language both in english and italian mixed up. Because that's what teens loved in 2009, right?
Unfortunately, so much of this time capsule hasn't been archived, though the website has been up until 2018, many pages are unavailable or inaccessible on Web Archive.
Iginio Straffi and Silvia Brena (character designer and writer respectively) were even active on Facebook at some point, replying to fans! But from what I've seen, nothing remains. If they've ever had any discussions, that is.
