The Last Airgender
The afternoon had been calm and relaxing. Airhead had been gone to do some shopping, an he and Zalea had managed to earn some money from not too morally contestable means. Everything was well, nothing unexpected or extravagant had happen for a hoofful of hours at least...
Things were great.
Too great.
That’s why Zalea had been using some of her spare time on one of her secret hobby: advanced probability. She was geting rather good at it. Mot enough to prevent the weekly chaotic events, but enough to know when it was and was not worth getting up. Following today’s calculation, things would return to their normal state of mild chaos in less than ten minutes, but they would probably stay bearable. Unless Airhead somehow managed to stumble upon something ‘interesting’ or...
“Zal! I found something absolutely incredible!”
The zebra sighed and slowly turned toward the voice. Airhead giddily got inside, a big bag floating in his magic aura. The content was hidden by the fabric, but she could hear characteristic sound of glass hitting even more glass could .
Please don’t be potions...
“I’ve bou-, I mean found, a fresh batch of health potion!” he declared enthusiastically as he closed the door.
“Health potion?” she repeated, surprised at the apparent harmlessness of it.
“Yes!”
Airhead emptied his bag, revealing at least twenty glass bottles filled with a purple-ish content. Zalea took one, opened it and sniffed the content.
“Let’s see...” she muttered to herself. “Wormwood, traces of mercury, spring water... dragon’s tail? and something else... horns or antlers...”
She pondered upon it a moment. She was no expert in potion but somehow this smelled fishy. Almost literally.
“Where did you find those?” She said, still lost in her thoughts.
“Oh ‘ou ‘ow... ‘ext to that nice...” Airhead stopped long enough to pop something out with his mouth with a loud ’humpf’ before continuing. “I mean in the ruins in the dark forest.”
“And they were just lying there?”
“Well... no...”- The sound of his magic echoed faintly, but Zalea did not pay attention to it, trying to remember the faint notion she had in magical ingredients -”There was that nice raccoon and his opossum lady and a kirin-pony I had not met before but who looked really nice. I think... I didn’t have my glasses at the time.”
“Wait a minute...”
Zalea turned toward Airhead in time to see him gulp the content of al the potions. At once.
“What have you done?” she asked dumbfounded.
“I’ve just drank the content of twenty-three health potions at once! With a bit of luck, I may become an alicorn!”
“It doesn’t work like that!”
“Oh yeah? Then how does it work?”
The zebra stayed silent a moment, unable to find an answer.
“Okay you got me here, but there’s no way-”
“Wait!” he interrupted her. “I fell the change inside me! I’m evolving!”
Airhead started to rise above the ground, air started to gather around him, gentle at first then increasingly strong, forming a hurricane centred around him.
He sent a victorious glare at Zalea who just watched the spectacle with astonishment. He instinctively took a pose, his upper and lower hooves joined by pair and tried to gloat about his victory against genetic, magic, common sense and most of all, his zebra roommate.
Unfortunately it wasn’t going to happen.
His eyes and glasses glowered with a power coming from ancient ages, from ancient ponies with he same connection to their environment (or total lack thereof). Suddenly the air around the unicorn froze, leaving him trapped in a perfect bubble of ice.
Zalea rubbed her temple and sighed.
“You really done goofed up this time...”

I've cleaned for about five hours now but finally my room is all neat and tidy! I don't know, I'm quite proud of that for some reason. xD - Anna
