Laios x Reader (Male, Monster) Romantic or Platonic
Word Count: 763
Summary:
You’re a creature of the dungeons. A monster. All adventures that looked at you had tired their damnedest to slay you. You thought you would die as you lived. Violent and angry.
Now you just want to rest. There are no threats here. Just warm blankets, unlikely friends, and some much needed cuddles.
Laios is more than happy to provide that and more.

[No warnings]
This was a little out of character for you.
Now don’t get me wrong. You weren’t exactly expecting to tag along with this rag tag bunch in the first place. The dungeons were a place where you had to fight for survival. It wasn’t just adventures you had to worry about; Other monsters, traps, starvation, and sickness are also just scratching the surface. You thought you’d die as you lived, violently fighting. For a moment, you didn’t have to be like that.
Snores could be heard around the room you were in. A fire was dying out in the middle of it. The crackling sounds of the burnt wood almost unnoticed. The warmth that came from the flames dying alongside its light. The lower half of your body lay on the colder stone floor while your upper half was curled up on Laios’ lap.
“I didn’t think you’d ever let me get this close,” Laios whispered. He practically had stars in his eyes.
He’d been waiting for a moment like this. A moment to study. Poke and prod. Unfortunately for him, be it a werecat or house cat, he lacks the knowledge on how to approach them. Dogs are friendly. They will wag their tails when they see you and he easily matches their energy. Felines on the other hand are usually the opposite. You need to give them space, respect boundaries. Be quiet and calm. Let them come to you before you come to them.
All things Laios struggles with… especially with monsters.
The reason as to why he was so calm now is because the rest of the party was in a deep rest. He’d rather not get cursed out by an angry halfling. Even so, he could hardly keep his excitement. He didn’t know why you were getting so comfortable with him but he didn’t really care. Being able to look at you up close was exhilarating.
The reason you were doing this now?
Maybe the spare blankets you were thrown felt too cold. Maybe it was for safety in numbers. Maybe… you wanted to feel less alone for a night. Maybe this was the nicest you’ve had it in a long while.
Maybe this blonde idiot was worming his way into your trust faster than you’d ever admit it.
“The hair on your face is a bit softer than I expected it to be,” He whispered to you, “Especially your cheeks.”
His hands were roaming all over your face. He was gentle, like a nice face massage. This soft touch alone made your body practically melt into him. The luxury of being treated so softly wasn’t something you thought you could achieve.
He continued to nerd out, “Your pattern is so pretty as well,” fingers traced them out. When he finally stopped he cupped your face once more.
“You’re such a handsome creature,” he cooed out. “Such a handsome man.”
If there wasn’t a fire slowly burning out you’d think he was the one lighting up the room. The genuine excitement of his words felt like your heart was being lifted. It wasn’t long after he said those words that a deep, guttural vibration came from your throat. You have no idea how hard you are making Laios struggle to stay quiet right now.
“You’re so fascinating…” he softly stated, “Such a good boy…”
He leans forward and plants a soft kiss on your nose. You can smell the lingering scent of what he last ate. You weren’t able to think too much about it though. He pulled your face closer to his, your foreheads were flush against each other. At this point you were lying on top of him. He certainly didn’t seem to mind. Even so, you rolled over, now beside him. Save for an arm and leg that was still laid over his body.
Laios, on the other hand, seemed like he wanted to crawl into your fur with how tight he was hugging you. He didn’t want this moment to end just yet. Even as he could feel his eyes growing heavy he fought to keep his arms around you. Afraid that at any moment you’d be sick of him and go back into your distant personality. But you didn’t. The whole night you laid beside him. You held on just as tight. You fought just as hard.
You’d use to wish for nights with security like this. A moment to finally rest. Yet even now, you fight. This defeat didn’t hurt like the others would have. You’d gladly lose over and over.

“All I do is eat!” Laios spits his venom toward the dwarf, his pupils blown with boiling rage. “There’s more to life than eating. You want to know what? I can’t even taste anymore, Senshi. Did you know that? I bet you didn’t, otherwise you wouldn’t be suggesting food!”
“Brother, Senshi wasn’t trying to be insensitive.” Falin says, her brother’s booming voice itching a nerve. “It’s not his fault.”
“Why did you have to get eaten by that fucking dragon?” Laios spins on his heel, his body inflamed as his projected outrage has found a new target at the mention of faults. “Why did you have to do that? Had to go and be the gods-damned hero? If you hadn’t, I wouldn’t have had to come save you. I wouldn’t have never ran into that crazy mage and that fucking lion. If it’s anyone’s fault, it’s yours!”
Crack.
Bone meeting bone, cushioned only by skin.
A hush falls over the crowd. Silence fills every crevice of the ransacked training room, the hallway outside of it.
“You’ve got a loud bark for someone with no bite, Laios.” The words drip from your lips, your own venom bubbling in your throat. Your knuckles throb and sting as you straighten up, your hand shaking as you lower it. “How dare you talk to your sister that way.”
here's a snippet anyway bc this shit is cracking me up | snippet of boiling point (king!laios touden x past party member!f!reader) wherein reader overhears the tea on laios who has been MIA since reader arrived | wc: 256, mildly suggestive | divider by @/strangergraphics
After getting dressed and using the handbasin to refresh, you step out into the quiet corridor. Faint voices from behind closed doors. The rustle of your clothes. The crackle of lit sconces. The ever-distant echo of footsteps—a pair of guards, near-silent save the clatter of their armor.
“… I know, the king’s been there all week.” You hear—a feminine voice, soft and unfamiliar, approaching from around the corner, accompanied by two sets of feet padding along the stone.
You press yourself against the wall, straining your hearing. They’re talking about Laios—and you might just get the answers as to where he’s been.
“He’s going to exhaust himself before anything can actually be done,” another voice—a bit deeper, also unfamiliar.
“I wonder if that newcomer has anything to do with it,” the first voice lowers as it nears the intersection of the corridor you’re in.
“I doubt she brought along the attacks,” the second voice counters in a lighthearted tone, “but I have heard her name coming from behind the king’s walls…”
Fire scorches your cheeks and ears, and your heart stammers underneath your chest. The trope of staff gossip mills are true—you’ve spent enough time around housekeepers and kitchen staff to know word travels like lightning—but would they lie about something like that? The image of Laios in his bed, glistening in sweat, the quick-paced bob of something underneath a sheet covering his bottom-half—
“No,” the first gasps, grinning into their voice. “Do tell.”
hi 🌱 I was wondering if we could perhaps have a laios x reader fluff oneshot (before the events of the show) where they’re sharing a bed and he curls up around them like a beast in a den? not that they’re complaining <3
Beast-man!?
Pairing : Laios Touden x GN!Reader
word count : 743
Summary : After a grueling trip into the dungeons, the party took a well needed break. [Reader] found themselves in the Touden home, with their village being too far to travel between expeditions, and in Laios’s bed?!
Warnings : None!
A/N : I LOVE LAIOS!!! And i love this request sm.
Standing outside of the small, but cozy, house, [Name] looked up at the swirling vines against the stained wood. Laios so willingly offered up his and Falin’s house for [Name] to stay and recover at for the short break. With a heavy sigh, the three of them dragged their weary bodies inside. Laios gently closed the door behind them.
“It’s nothing fancy but you’ll be dry and warm.” He smiled like an idiot (but you can tell he’s just as tired). Their house smelled like sugar and old wood, a combination that was surprisingly comforting after the trip they just had. He placed a hand on their shoulder, it was warm and not as rough as someone would expect for a fighter. “You’re not injured, right?” After a small shake of the head, Laois spoke up again, “Go take a bath. I’ll cook up something good.” He walked away licking his lips.
The warm water felt nice on [Name]’s tired skin. It seemed to wash away the grime and stress from the long journey, coating their skin like a blanket of heat, the air breaking through with a chill as they stepped out. Exiting to Laios’s room attached, they were in nothing but a towel. Their previous clothes were far too dirty and torn to put back on. That’s when they noticed the neatly folded shirt and shorts lying on the bed… Laios’s? After putting the soft cotton onto their still slightly damp body, they left to go rejoin the siblings in the main area of the house.
“Mmm, Laios, that smells so good,” [Name] was practically drooling as they came up behind him. He laddeled the soup into a couple bowls. “Thanks. I figured we needed something hearty.” [Name] took a bowl and sat on an old couch near the fireplace. It was old, a couple rips and tears here and there, but lord was it comfortable.
[Name] was quiet as they ate. They were too tired to try and hold a conversation. Laios, however, still had enough energy to talk their ear off about monsters. “I can’t believe we got to fight a warg!” He paused to take a bite.
“And it almost ate my head off” [Name] interrupted.
“Actually wargs don’t eat humans…” and he went on and on.
[Name] occasionally chimed in with a “mhm” or a soft “ahhh”.
“And this book has so much valuable information on how to eat! I need to try at least one of these recipes. Just think of all the unique flavors.” His eyes gleamed with excitement.
[Name] could only smile in return. “You’d make a great monster Laios.” They set their bowl down with a yawn. As agreed on previously, they made their way to Laios’s room. [Name] was sure he’d be joining him soon. He sat on the edge for a moment, sinking into the soft plush of an old mattress, they laid down, getting comfortable.
They weren’t sure how long it’s been, they just remembered waking up to a dip in the bed. Turning their head with barely open eyes, they saw Laios climbing into bed. His large stature began to envelop [Name]. “…Laios?” They barely whispered out. He didn’t seem to hear. His big arms wrapped around their waist as he curled around them. He was incredibly warm and so soft! Everything about this position felt protective and comfortable. Laios was big, far bigger than [Name]. They were laying with their knees up to their chest with Laios curled around them and holding tight.
It seemed that Laios fell asleep instantly. A deep rumble came from his chest as his arms tightened. A growl?! “Oh, Laios, you really would make a good monster!” Every action felt like a beast protecting a member of his pack. Despite the… oddity of the scenario, [Name] couldn’t help but feel flattered. They knew how much Laios liked monsters. This was proof enough that he wanted to protect them how he knew. They softly smiled, pressing their face into his chest, letting themselves be comforted by this man with such an interest in monsters that he started to act like one.
The next morning, sun broke through the blinds and right into [Name]’s eyes. They blinked awake and looked up at Laios who still seemed to be deep in sleep. They hadn’t moved an inch! They softly chucked and cuddled a bit closer into their big beast. “A couple more minutes wouldn’t hurt…”
