Day 9 - E-o-F’s Pinecest Authors Appreciation Project
(Click here for my intro and up-to-date summary of authors I’ve shown appreciation for.)
Sometimes it’s hard to summarize an author’s work into a few paragraphs, as I've been doing with my previous posts of appreciation. Maybe-Qchan is different. I can sum up their contribution to Pinecest in a single word: “Adorkable!”
Seriously, I've looked through their blog. And I don't think there is a single thing that Q has done that doesn't make my teeth hurt, due to the overwhelming sweetness.
Q’s stories are generally shorter, to-the-point drabbles that stay on the SFW side. Many of them deal with Dipper's feelings prior to anything happening with Mabel, which you would think would be a recipe for angst. But somehow it comes across so fluffy, you're smiling wistfully by the end, because you know things will work out better in times to come.
And then there's the texties! Oh my lord, these are cute! Q’s older ones are between teenage twins in a secret relationship at home, but the newest ones are set in a future AU where Dipper and Mabel are grown up and in an established, long-term relationship. In either case, we see their text messages in various scenarios: from mundane to monumental, the level of adorableness is ridiculous. The essence of how these dorks interact with each other is portrayed so perfectly, I can't handle it!
If you want to grin like an idiot, spend some time on Q’s blog.
