I’m gonna be honest here: I really haven’t written that much variety wise! One Siren’s Soul is my very first writing project that I’ve come so close to completion with! Quill is. Very. Very bad at picking projects up and then never finishing them. ^^’

That said! I’ve attempted to write a few short stories and I can tell you now that it just is not my thing. I always end up with TOO MANY IDEAS and suddenly what was supposed to be a short story now looks like it’s gonna be a full novella. As far as I can see, novel writing is where my best skillset lies, since I always seem to enjoy coming up with complex worldbuilding and plotlines that need much more space to be fulfilled.

I’ve written some poetry before, as well! Part of OSS is actually told through Dione’s poems, which... are technically my poems because I was the one who wrote them. XD I find poetry is fun and is easy to incorporate a lot more symbolism and word sounds (like rhyming, alliteration, euphony and the like) than it usually is for prose! My poetry is usually pretty pattern based, but maybe someday I’ll attempt more freestyle.

And I’ve never tried scriptwriting! From how I often find dialogue easier to write than description, I think I could find it neat to try~

“I am never at home on Sundays.” For the sentence prompt (I’m maybeillwriteit but this is my main)

“You are to remain on the top floor. Don’t even look at the elevator.” “Yes, ma’am.” “Don’t touch any of the documents, or open any of the cabinets.”“Yes-”“Please try not to break anything, or make any messes. No shoes or animals allowed up here. Don’t make anything… sticky. We’re having lunch at noon exactly, so please get dressed in something nice. It is imperative that we make a good impression. Best behavior, no speaking unless they ask you a direct question. You may have a light snack from the refrigerator before then. I believe there are some sliced fruits and vegetables.”Michael nodded, swinging his feet from the living room chair. The woman was supposedly his mother, according to his grandmother. He’d been vaguely aware of the fact that he had one, but the past week had been all new to him. The buildings, the sounds, the smells, the people in clacking shoes and bright white clothes, and buildings full of potted plants and indoor fountains and twisting statues… One of the entire apartment walls was a window out over the city. The landscape sprawled and glimmered and moved. They were up too high to make out people, but he could see the pulsing of fluid lines and the trails of Bioms bringing citygoers where they needed to be. There were big museums and stores and historic monuments and parks that he was vaguely aware were important. There was also a beach, which was famous or something. He could feel the thrum and the breath of it all. It was partly thrilling, and partly nauseating. If nothing else, it was a far cry from the dilapidated house with the tire swing he’d come from. While he wasn’t fond of the over stimulation of the new place, he didn’t exactly miss the other.The woman in stiff white paced back and forth, her shoes clacking on the kitchen linoleum as she looked over lists and checked her watch. “Um… Mother?” He rolled the word around in his mouth. It felt unnatural and forced. “Do you think we could go see some of the city tomorrow?”“Hm?” She looked over at the calendar. “Oh, absolutely not. I’m booked full on Sundays. Worse, we’re scheduled for a dissection and Mother Watkins wants to put on a demonstration… I’ll see if your sister can free up some time to bond with you or something.”She headed toward the door.“Okay, that sounds-” It slammed shut. “Phasmal.”@maybeillwriteit

Bez - she’s a gamer! She loves video games and is a tech nerd

Snowella - Idk how to describe her taste in hobbies but she enjoys adventurous things like ice skating, hiking, sword fighting, etc

Rose - she loves cooking! Cooking and baking is her passion ❤️

Corrinthia - she’s a crafty artist who’s working towards becoming a full time fashion designer when she’s older!

Cassandra - she loves solo hikes, reading, and diving on her free time

- I find writing heroes a lot easier, but dialogue for villains is a lot more fun!

- I absolutely would write aus for my wips! But I don't think I could justify doing that rn bc I haven't even written the wip yet😅

- my favourites are probably criminals/gangs au, rich people at a party au, bookstore au and others. Can't think, brain empty unfortunately abkdjfk

- writing a crossover would mean having to get time travel involved and idk if I could make that work believably so my answer has gotta be no :(

Hello hello @maybeillwriteit! I’d love to tell you about this adorable little terror.

This is Lucky. He’s the Worst. He’s a 1-ish year old Maine Coon who is afraid of loud noises and hates when you touch his toe beans. He loves playing with hair ties, yelling when he’s bored, belly pets, and hauling ass around the house at 2am. He is very soft and lorge (seriously, he weighs like 25 pounds - he big). 

The book I rec to everyone? Hmmmmm.

I mean, I always recommend picking up a short story collection. If you’re not familiar with any authors or short stories in general, I’d suggest grabbing an O’Henry Prize collection or picking up an older issue of Tin House (contemporary fiction) (RIP print publication) or a Barrelhouse (pop culture short stories!) to get you started. If you start with the canon, you might hate it. George Saunders is also a popular favorite, as is Denis Johnson or Aimee Bender if you’re looking for weirder.

I don’t really know about book-books. I have weird taste. But, ya know, in honor of Pride Month, I’m gonna rec a book that changed my life.

The Secret Loves of Geek Girls is a very good non-fiction anthology edited by Hope Nicholson full of stories from women in nerdy industries like comics and books about love. It’s freakin’ amazing, 10/10, Margaret Atwood did comics for it, Trina Robbins is there, Noelle Stevenson is there, freakin’ Marjorie Liu. Please read. There is also kick ass art. I’m a big fan of the “ode to Bioware romances” piece near the end.
