Tumblr’s new filtered tags

Discoveries so far:

Only works on tags themselves, not words in the post body

Will only catch exact matches, but capitalization doesn’t matter. Blacklisting #polka will catch both #polka and #POLKA, but not #polka dancing

If the OP tagged it but the reblogger didn’t, the filter will still catch it!

Your own posts will always be visible to you, no matter how you tag them, but reblogs of your posts will be filtered if they contain a blocked tag

Your filtered tags are shared between desktop and mobile, and can be edited both in the app and on the website

Filtering works on the dashboard, popover view, tracked tags, blogs on mobile, and mobile search

Filtering doesn’t work on blog themes and desktop search (yet!)
