One thing that irritates me about the BG3 fandom is that many act like any character that isn't a yes man or kissing their feet is a horrible character.
Nettie is suspicious of you after you say you've got a mindflayer tadpole in your skull, after being attacked by someone with one of those things in his head, and Halsin has told her (if she didn't study it with him, forgot) that these things are different, so she has some poison on hand in case you're behaving too weirdly, because as far as she knows you can turn any minute? Wow what a bitch, how dare she try and do that!
Mayrina, not liking that, as far as she knew, you took away her baby's ticket to a better future than she could hope to provide and her husband's revival? What options did you even use before Ethel sent her away? Because idk what people are talking about her being ungrateful or not caring about her baby, she seems pretty ok to me when I basically up and say "Hey Mayrina, Ethel killed your brothers" gets upset and calls the deal off with Ethel, and scolding herself when she realizes Ethel was playing her. Which is another thing; Ethel was playing Mayrina just like she did all the other souls in her gallery, and if Mayrina's brothers were surprised Ethel could just vanished, Mayrina probably had no clue what mess she was in.
"Wow, Mol doesn't even care about the other orphan children! And how dare she get mad that I killed Raphael, who she has a contract with!" Mol cares about the other children! Saving Arabella and Mirkon (and going easy on the other children when they're caught in the act) is literally how you get on her good side, it's also why she sticks up for you when Jaheira is about to kill you! She had a deal with Raphael, and as she sees it, you ruined it, because she's a child who doesn't realize any better.
And more, but you get the picture. It's one thing to complain about how a character acts, but sometimes I wonder if it's because they're paying attention or understand the character's deal.
