BTS: Hok + Mayzani Project

Today, after months of brainstorming, attempting to match our schedules and anticipation, we finally shot the HOK + MAYZANI Project.  It was incredible fun!  We all had a blast!  Hok and I are so thankful for the amazing team we pulled together!  Here are some behind the scenes photos.. :-)

Styling Lyndzi.

Back in the styling days, I have to say, my favorite person to style was Lyndzi Trang - my friend, business partner and amazing wardrobe stylist/model.  Here are some of the pics!

The headpiece was one of those late night creations.

What pushed me to create the Spring 09 Collection was a photoshoot I assisted a good friend of mine, Erlinda Denise in. She hit me up, explained the concept, and it opened the door to inspiration. I decided to attach those pictures since 1. IT WAS FUN! 2. THE RESULTS WERE BEAUTIFUL! Enjoy!

MAYZANI in ZOOEY MAGAZINE Part 2.

I have searched high and low for my copy of Zooey Magazine's October 2010 Issue so I could show you the MAYZANI pieces featured in it.. of course I found it in the middle of moving. Lyndzi Trang (uber fashionista and creative director of Zooey) styled this editorial.  I had the pleasure of going along for the fun, and ended up using MAYZANI pieces in the shoot!

The Earrings Madison is wearing were a result of not knowing what to do with all these Zipper Pulls I had from something else I was working on.  Voila, earrings.  :-)

Actress Amanda Schull from One Tree Hill and Anneliese Van Der Pol from That's So Raven

The necklace Amanda was wearing was made with scraps of fabric I had, and pieces of wood I collected at a park while babysitting my niece. The ring Anneliese is wearing is a piece of Coral that was collected from the sandy shores of Belau and given to me.  :-) The shoot was tons of fun!  It was a pleasure working with Amanda, Anneliese and Madison!  They are beautiful, and their energy was spread throughout the shoot.  It was a good day.  :-) Love, Mazel

Always Dancing

This entry is pointless, and you will probably wonder why the hell I even bothered, BUT, its 4am, and this is what's on my mind. 

I LOVE to dance.. I am always dancing... I'm that sober chick in the middle of the dance floor when it's empty.  That's me.  I always have my hair down at the beginning of the night, and 30 minutes later, it's in a bun because I just sweated my hair out on the dance floor!  So I found some pictures of me dancing, and thought I would share. LOL.  

I am the third one from the left, staring at the camera.  Kindergarten, Traditional Carolinian Dance. Plumeria Mwar Mwar (head wreath), Coconut Neck Piece, White Thick Bandeau, Coconut Leaves Grass Skirt. = )

13 Yrs Old, dancing for Tiare Tahitian- Traditional Tahitian Dance. Headpiece, Hipster, Grass Skirt all made by our lovely moms.  Coconut Bra - REAL COCONUTS - still have those! Shell Necklaces.

Dancing with some random guy at a club in Buffalo, NY.  21 Yrs old. OMG - this particular outfit, I look like an ad for F21.  Forever 21 Shirt $4.50, Harem Pants $6 AND bag $7!  Chinese Laundry Boots (courtesy of ex boo, THANK YOU!), Swatch Watch

At a friend's birthday.  This Romper was so damn tight btw, the boning was stabbing me, and i was having so much fun dancing, i didn't care.. by the end, I had cuts all over my right side.  What a Mess!  Marie Le Ford Romper - keep an eye out for this girl, she has amazing designs!

Kashiro and I being silly.. but still dancing! CHECK OUT KASHIROS BLOG BY CLICKING ON HER NAME! Im the one to the right in case you didnt know: Vintage Blazer, Vintage Palau Micro Games 1998 Tank (used to be my dads!), Black with white print stitching leggings from Macys (i think), boots from Target $11!!!, Purse, Vintage.  

At a wedding.. haha. Dress is Forever 21.  The most expensive thing I ever bought from there!  $36!  Hanging did this dress no justice, I fell in love when I put it on!  Shoes, ALDO, $98.  Belt from Goodwill for $3.99 - my favorite belt in the world, have had it for YEARS!

Okay, now that I have bored you to death, I wanna see your dancing pictures!  I promise next entry will be a little more interesting!
