“Hello, dear!” Harmony leans in to give Joe a kiss on the cheek. Her hands are occupied with a rather large present. “I got something for you.” She sits on the sofa and by Joe’s side. She sets the present on his lap. “I thought you might need something like this. I hope you’ll use it.” Joe is always living with more risks. It’s his living and there were times when Joe got injured with his motorcycle.

 That always scares her. More than anything, Harmony wants Joe to be safer and be here with her. 

“Happy holidays to you.”

“Joe. He’s one hell of a man.” Harmony begins with a smile. “He is a handsome devil, but don’t tell him I said that! But I figure he would know I think that. He doesn’t look it in the ring, but Joe is truly a sweetheart. He works hard, great with kids, and when we are alone, he can be a romantic. He knows how to make a girl swoon.” She adds with a laugh as memories of their sweet moments together return to her. Truly, she adores Joe with all her heart. 

“He keeps me on my toes. Both for good reasons...” Then, Harmon’s smile lessens while her mind ventures to the other side of their relationship. “And bad.” As much as she wants to dwell in all the positive emotions she feels for him, she can’t ignore the brutal honesty. “I don’t like everything he does and...And yes, it has caused some friction. His career is far from safe. Very far from it. Do you know what it’s like when someone you love, someone you hold near to your heart, risks their life every time they enter the ring? When you know that they may not survive every match? When that one embrace or that one kiss before walking past those doors to the roaring crowd could be your last?” Harmony isn’t sure if she could get an answer from that. She didn’t expect one, honestly. Lips curl back to reveal gritted teeth. Anger darkens her gaze, though it’s not directed at Joe himself.

“God, I hate his job as a megalo-boxer. I hate it so! I’m so damn scared for him every time. Knowing that one kiss may be a goodbye kiss hurts. But who am I to tell him to quit? Joe said it before. He loves fighting. He loves the challenge and risking his life. It scares him, but he finds a thrill in that too. He doesn’t understand why I’m afraid and I guess I don’t understand how he is willing to keep doing this.” Harmony’s hands clench at your sides, but that does little to reveal her spite towards what she deems to be blood sports. 

“I know he loves me and I love him, but...Sometimes, I wonder if he loves fighting more. That pisses me off, but do I really have that right to even dare take that away from him?”

👫 (4 headcanons about Joe and Harmony’s relationship) -gearlessjunkdogjoe

Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship.   

1.   Although Harmony lives very far away from her home country, she stays true to her heritage and maintains connections with her family. After initial apprehension involving and encounter with one of Harmony’s cousins, they welcome Joe with open arms. They see him as part of their family and the tribe. This also includes the rest of Joe and Harmony's family. And yes, that means Joe’s coach and Sachio too. 

2. Joe and Harmony have a fairly large family already including their kids, Nanbu, and Sachio, but they are also the unofficial parental figures of the orphans. Joe sometimes plays with them and trains them on the basic techniques of megalo boxing. Whenever the kids are hungry or feel unwell, they always know to go to the Nowhere Clinic near the gym or at the Joe and Harmony’s home. Harmony always makes sure the kids have hot meals and her medical profession allows her to see that they get the best care.  While they are not the most wealthy, the family always makes do and ensure everyone is taken care of. No matter what, the kids always have a place to call home and people who will love them like family.

3. Joe’s association to dogs extends to his relationship with Harmony and their family. They are often called the pack. Like wolves in the natural world, the bond between dogs in a pack are very strong and they look after each other. The entire family, including the kids Joe and Harmony take in see themselves as a team and whenever a member of the pack is in trouble, the rest will come charging in with fangs bared. 

Worst of all are the heads of the pack. No one who values their lives would mess with Pappa Wolf and Mama Bear.  This isn’t including Harmony’s relatives who are as threatening. Especially when one of Harmony’s cousins was a megalo boxer himself. 

4.  Joe and Harmony went through thick and thin in their relationship. There were some rough patches like Harmony’s fear of Joe dying in the ring. It caused some arguments early on, especially during Megalonia, but Harmony not once abandoned Joe. She stuck with him through the good, the bad, and the ugly of his career. Their love persevered and became even stronger.

Why do you want to marry me?:  I want to marry you because I want a long, happy life with you by my side. I want to spend every day waking up to your beautiful face and seeing it before I go to bed. Yeah, I’m rambling at this point, but it boils down to “I love you a lot and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

Big wedding or Small wedding?: I’d love a small wedding. Just the two of us with our families is perfect for me.

Do you see children in our future?: Yeah, a few. I think we’d make some cute kids, too.

Silver eyes look over the application in her hands. She reads Joe’s responses once, then twice and taking in each word with a smile on her face. Knowing this is how he feels warms her heart. 

“Joe, you’re just too sweet...” Soft words fall onto silence. Harmony’s gaze turns away from the paper to the window beside her. The sun nears the western horizon. He should be done with training before long. Perhaps now is a good time to pay a visit and give her answer. 

It’s better to tell him that she accepts in person than over the phone.

How long will they last? - It looks like they will be together until death.

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - Harmony had some attraction to him in the beginning from what she saw during his matches. When she got to know him, her attraction deepened. Joe slowly felt the same and returned her feelings.

How was their first kiss? - I have yet to write that drabble (but I plan to), but their first kiss would be more of spur of the moment. I don’t want to spoil too much, but I will say they got caught in the moment and took the risk. It’s brief, but very sweet...And that led to a series of more kisses. 

Wedding:

Who proposed? -  Joe

Who is the best man/men? - Yuri, Nanbu, and I think Sachio would be old enough to be a groomsman. 

Who is the braid’s maid(s)? -  Her cousins might be her bridesmaids. She has a rather large family back in her hometown and was close to many of them growing up. Harmony would have a couple friends from her university that could join the bridal party too. It’s just I haven’t introduced them since it wasn’t needed yet. 

Who did the most planning? -  Harmony

Who stressed the most? - Harmony

How fancy was the ceremony? - Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big.

Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? - I think they are generally pretty chill with whom they invite with the budget allowing. Except Fujimaki...He’s not invited!

Sex:

Who is on top? -  They switch quite a bit. 

Who is the one to instigate things? - Joe

How healthy is their sex life? - Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now

How long do they normally last? - It wouldn’t be outrageously long. Probably about the average time span of about 20 to 30 minutes counting foreplay and the aftermath.

How many children will they have naturally? - It would not surprise me if they had at least 3..but it might be more than 3...

How many children will they adopt? -  It wouldn’t surprise me if they act kind of like parents to the street kids in Nowhere. Joe is shown to be kind of like an older brother or father figure to Sachio and his friends. Harmony would be described as a mama bear and tends to fuss over other people. She would want to make sure the kids are fed, healthy, and both she and Joe would be looking out for them and help them have the best lives they can get. 

Who gets stuck with the most diapers? - It might be Harmony.

Who is the stricter parent? - Harmony, Joe would be more of the calm and chill dad.

Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? - Harmony

Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - Harmony

Who is the more loved parent? - Joe

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? - Both would

Who cried the most at graduation? - Harmony

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Probably Joe, but I have a feeling he may deal with the issue with her fists if it escalates. I can’t say if Harmony would be any better. 

Cooking:

Who does the most cooking? - Harmony

Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Probably Harmony. I don’t see Joe as the type to be very picky with food.

Who does the grocery shopping? - Both. 

How often do they bake desserts? - Baking is one of Harmony’s hobbies. She would bake desserts about once a week.

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - As much as she tries to push having a balance diet, Harmony and Joe are more carnivorous. 

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Both would remember their anniversary, but Harmony may be the one who would surprise Joe with the dinner.  However, Joe would likely have a surprise of his own too.

Who is more likely to suggest going out? - Joe

Who is more likely to burn the house down accidentally while cooking? - Joe. Joe would cause disasters from cooking eggs.

Chores:

Who cleans the room? - Harmony

Who is really against chores? - Neither would be against doing their shares, honestly. 

Who cleans up after the pets? - Both

Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? - Neither of them would. 

Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - Goodness, Harmony would be!

Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - Joe 

Misc:

Who takes the longer showers/baths? - Harmony (partly because she has more hair than Joe and requires more time to wash it.)

Who takes the dog out for a walk? - Joe usually would, but I can see them walking the dog together.

How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? - Harmony

What are their goals for the relationship? -  Taking one day at a time together and enjoying every minute of it while working through the troubles they face. 

Who is most likely to sleep till noon? - Both might get caught sleeping until noon.

Who plays the most pranks? -  It’s not always apparent, but Harmony has a mischievous streak. None of her pranks are harmful though. She aims to make people laugh or mildly confused.

“What’s cute about you?” Harmony asks Joe with her arms crossed over her chest. She walks around the other with her gray eyes taking note of every feature she sees. “I’m not sure if I can pick one feature. I like your hairstyle...” She stops in front of Joe with her gaze meeting his. “I adore your deep, dark eyes. Your smile always touches my heart.”  Her own lips curve to a smile. “Your laugh is adorable and I melt into your hugs and kisses. ” The more she lists about what she finds cute about Joe, it’s harder to choose. 

“I think it would be all of you...But I think that is what some people consider being cheating, but the thing is, I can’t pick just one thing! You are the embodiment of cute!”

🎀 -Joe found a red leather jacket with a sleeveless little black dress to go with it. The dress was more form fitting up top and through the waist, but then it got looser and had an almost skirt-like look to it.

Harmony pulls the dress on and pulls up the zipper before putting the jacket in. She leaves her bedroom to meet Joe while wearing the clothes her gave her as a surprise. Harmony added some of her persona flair with glimmering red stud earrings, black choker adorned with the red heart shaped crystal pendant, and black wedge heels. A red rose decorates her hair that’s styled in a high ponytail. She smiles and leans in to give Joe a soft kiss on the lips with her arms wrapped around his neck. 

“Thank you for the clothes, Joe. I love them!” He didn’t have to give her anything. Just seeing Joe makes her day brighter.

A Risque Invitation

Harmony knows she shouldn't. He's training nonstop, and she knows how important that is. Training for upcoming fights takes priority, and she never argued with that. However, there are days when she misses being alone with him. It's been a few days now, and the fight is only a few more days. One night wouldn't be detrimental to his success, would it? She hopes not, but what happens will be his call.  This could very well be the last time she may see him in case things...get bad. No! No, she will not dwell in these dark thoughts. Not tonight. Joe is alive, and she wants to make every moment count. 

 With as much courage as she can muster, Harmony became daring in her invitation.

Joe's phone vibrates, a sign of a new text message. The message is a photo with a caption beneath it.

Text: It's been very quiet tonight. Mind coming over? I miss you so much.
