Yo I just wanted to say that I think you've handled everything about Owen's character extremely well! TBH I've wanted to know Owen's deadname for a long time but after ruminating on it for a while I've realized that since my reasons for wanting to know are basically fanart/fanfiction fodder, there's no reason it's essential knowledge (and I could always sub in a headcanon anyway). That having been said, it's a great thing that Owen won't have a canon deadname! It means you've respected who he is

Ah, thank you :) tbh it was actually Elliot’s call in the end to avoid actively deadnaming Owen in canon, though the subject is absolutely going to come up. Despite Owen’s emotional experience being heavily influenced by my own highschool career I’m also so far out of my lane writing a teenager with gender dysphoria it’s not funny. but I’m going to work with Elliot and an outside source to sensitivity check as much as possible; can’t promise i’m going to do 100% right, but i can promise i’ll try.
(i also wanna note that i’m absolutely not bothered by the concept of people headcanoning their own deadname for him or including it in any fan content, this is very much a boundary we’ve set for the source material, NOT for any external take on it)
